Ville Valo - Vocals, Guitar (1991-Present)

Ville Hermanni Valo was born in Vallila, Helsinki  on November 22, 1976 to a Finnish father named Kari and a mother of Hungarian descent named Anita. As a child, Ville was influenced by his music-loving parents, who exposed him to the songs of popular Finnish performers such as Tapio Rautavaara and Rauli Badding Somerjoki, while an older cousin introduced him to the heavier sounds of bands like Kiss, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. Valo's first musical step was as a three year old bongo drummer.

Linde (Mikko Lindstrom) - Lead Guitar (1991-Present)

Lindstr–m was born near Helsinki, on August 12, 1976 in Finland. During his childhood, his father (Olli) worked as an engineer and his mother (Riita) as a stewardess on Finnair, the national airline. Linde also has a younger brother named Jude, who was born four years after Linde. Linde was an introverted boy notable only for his bobbed blond hair and glasses. He developed a passion for music at an early age. Lindstr–m's father has always been an avid music fan and especially loves Elvis Presley. Lindstr–m was given his first guitar for Christmas at the age of 10. Himself and keyboardist Burton are the only current members of HIM who do not have a heartagram tattoo. When he was fifteen years old, he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He has one child, a daughter named Olivia, born March 6 2003.

Mige (Mikko Paqnanen) - Bass guitar, vocals (1991-Present)
 

Mige was born in Helsinki, Finland on the 19th of December, 1974. He lived in Oulunkyl” until he was 13, when his parents divorced and his father moved elsewhere. The family then moved to Tuusula, about 30 km north of Helsinki.

Paqnanen grew up in an artistic family and by his father music took his heart. When with his father, he was always in places that were surrounded with different instruments. The instruments acted as toys for Paananen and he spent a lot of time with them. Paqnanen thinks that the reason he picked up the music was for his relatives. The musicians were cooler in the eyes of a young Paqnanen.

Mika "Gas" Karppinen - Drums (1999-Present)

 (born Mika Kristian Karppinen) February 8, 1971 in Eskilstuna, Sweden is currently the drummer in the Finnish band, H.I.M. and he has been so since 1999. He is also the drummer for Finnish Deathgrind, To Separate the Flesh from the Bones under the alias "Pus Sypope". He has various nicknames and they are Gas Lipstick, Mike Ceer and Stobbe. Among these, Gas Lipstick is the best known one. He also performs in the rock band Bendover, whose members are all over 250 pounds. Before pursuing a career in music, Gas was a carpenter.

 

 

Janne "Emerson Burton" Puurtinen - Keyboards (2001-Present)

Emerson Burton (born Janne Johannes Puurtinen) is the current keyboard-player in the Finnish rock band, H.I.M. He was born 17th October, 1974, in Helsinki. Burton make his second debut as a temporary member of the band at the concert arranged at the Semifinal Club on the 12th of January of 2001. This was to give the keyboarder the chance to appear in a low key environment before the tour dates in Sweden, Norway and Denmark later that very month. Burton described playing with HIM "really easy and comfortable" as his band mates helped him to learn the set. He was asked to become a full time member at the end of January 2001.
