Re: T-155 Crystal Cleaver

Also one of my faves (in the short time I've been into this!). Here are a couple of posts, loosely related to Crystal Clevaer, but that I found interesting. 1. A focus group test involving different approaches to performing CC . 2. A presentational idea for CC . I've tried (2), and was very happy wi...

Re: The magic fair - jigsaw puzzle

Those look excellent. Been a while since visiting a magic convention, but it still looks very familiar! On the same topic, has anyone tried the Magic Puzzle Company puzzles yet? https://www.magicpuzzlecompany.com/ We have the three from the first series, but I'm waiting for lockdown to get rea...

If IKEA made magic tricks

I think this just about passes as magic, but either way, I love it. I find myself strangely drawn to overly elaborate methods for simple effects, so this ticks that box for me! https://www.facebook.com/61202989/videos/10103601971971703/ Matt Pritchard, the creator, has a nice website here: https://w...

Happy Birthday Rob!
We’ve never met and I haven’t been here for long, but it’s all too apparent what a thoroughly decent chap you are!

Re: BREXIT and taxes

Hi David, I sympathise. I run a business that trades across the EU - fortunately we only have a couple of different products (for import/export purposes), we work closely with a large forwarding agent and have a small team focussed on it, but even so it’s been a nightmare. For a relatively small mag...

On Edge by Angelo Carbone

Hi all,

I spotted this on eBay a day or two ago.

I’m a fan of Angelo’s work, but don’t know anything about this. Anyone know any more?

Hi Geoffrey, I’m a new joiner like yourself. I log in everyday and always find something new that makes me smile, and I’ve only just scratched the surface. Welcome!

Lovely city you’re from too - comfortably in my U.K. top 5!

The Montecristo/Mastermind Deck is the closest I've found so far, but it looks like it's limited to just one card.

T-184 Pop-up Card - Two quick questions

This is a new purchase for me, and I love the card force. I love the pop-up mechanism too, but the force is just brilliant. Q1: is there a gaffed deck that uses the same principle across 52 cards? Q2: are the secret markings on the 9 cards purely to ease set-up of the trick? I can't see any other pu...

Re: T-178 Krazy Keys

I’ve just received a set of these and, obviously, I’m really impressed by the method, but can I also just raise a toast to the quality of the manufacturing - the way the two ends of the keys (different on each end) blend into the handle is just fantastic. Obviously you guys have grown used to this o...

Re: dynamic coins

Thanks Rob, all good now. And I got hold of some nice matching Y100 coins which I introduced along with the stack - my 7 and 4-year-olds were suitably amazed. Appreciate any respectable coin man probably uses proper coin boxes, but I assume someone out there has routined some tricks using the...

Re: T-215 Magician's Matchbox

Cute. I can't put my finger on why, but tricks with matchboxes appeal to me. I have a strong memory of seeing sympathetic matchboxes on the Paul Daniels show when I was a child, so perhaps it was that.

Re: T-185 Puzzling Queen

I like this effect (I don't own it, and this is the first time I've seen it), but the side panels bother me. What are they for? I presume the actual answer of course is to help cover angle issues, but from a layman's perspective (which is how I viewed the video), they seem to be unnecessarily compli...

Re: dynamic coins

Quick question re. dynamic coins: any ideas for releasing the inserts from the caps? My set is new (it's the Magic+Entertainment version from Japan), but even a hefty 'bang' on a hard surface doesn't release the inserts - they seem to be well and truly stuck. Before anyone rightly asks, yes, I am us...

Happy New Year from the Garden of England

Hi, happy new year to you all! I’m Chris, I'm 39 years old, and I currently live and work in Kent. My first magic trick was a gift from my aunt about 35 years ago - it was a clear plastic box in which you placed a red wooden ball through which ran two yellow pieces of string. One loop of string was ...
