but with the vanishing of the paper that lies on the black square i am not sure Notice how "deep" the try is that holds the blank paper before it changes. After the change look closely how it now appears to be much more "shallow", almost as if there's something covering the original contents of the...

Re: Announcing: The Tenyo Market

Hey, I'm here! Yeah something happened there for a few days. I started getting these e-mails saying I needed to verify some information to keep my site up. I assumed it was a phishing scam so I ignored them (after all, I do this for a living and have NEVER had to verify a site after it had been up f...

The packaging for T-107 Crossroads rocks my socks off. It's just SO damn retro, it screams 1980's!

Re: Did I buy a knockoff Mystery of the High Hat?

is that the first ever instagrammed tenyo? LOL It may be, Simon, but that pic isn't mine it was the photo from the eBay listing ;) Thanks for the info on the shape of the hat! That's exactly what I was hoping to see. Once again you guys offer super helpful information. Did I mention you're my favor...

Did I buy a knockoff Mystery of the High Hat?

Hey gang, I recently snatched a Mystery Of The High Hat for a really low price on eBay. The seller insisted in the listing that it was an original Tenyo item and NOT a knockoff, but after receiving it I'm not sure... There are absolutely no Tenyo markings or logos or anything on any of the pieces, a...

Re: I did it!

Yeah Simon, that's what I'm afraid will happen to mine eventually (and sounds like has already happened to Shan).

Perhaps John could find a way to make replacements for it like he has with See-Through Card (and other tricks)

Re: I did it!

Thanks, Shan! You know, for me, it's the flippy part that doesn't always work right but I think it's just me needing to practice the move more. Sorry you're having trouble with the sliding part, I could totally see that getting worn-out and start catching on the blocks over time as it gets "squeezed...

Re: I did it!

Got it in the mail yesterday, spent a few hours with it last night. Wow, what an ingenious design! I think it has to hold the record for "most pieces of gimmicked plastic" of any Tenyo trick ;) You seriously can't show a SINGLE piece of the trick freely to the audience. They can only see things from...

Re: I did it!

Awesome, thanks guys. You're making me even more excited to get my hands on it! One of the things that has drawn me to it is I just CANNOT work-out how its done. I mean a lot of Tenyo tricks use similar principles and I find myself more and more being able to tell how a trick is done just by watchin...

I did it!

After many months, I've FINALLY been able to get my hands on my "holy grail" Tenyo trick: Bare Bones! I've bid on pretty much every Bare Bones auction the past 6 months but kept losing-out. One popped-up a few days ago and I was determined to win it. I happened to have some extra cash to throw at it...

LOL thanks for the feedback, guys :D

I really do have a large update to the site coming soon, I've just been busy balancing life and work. I'm glad that other people are getting use out of it, that motivates me to keep working on it and improving it for everyone.

Re: Announcing: The Tenyo Market

Thanks for pointing that out, David! When I was creating the database I used the spellings found on Tenyo's official site (http://www.tenyo.co.jp/magic_en/alllist/index.html). I could tell there were probably some mistakes there but without the actual trick in my possession I couldn't be sure. But y...

Re: Gimmicked Knife for Credit Surprise?

OK so thinking about this a bit more it's now so very clear to me:

I *COULD* use just make the blade on a real knife dull so that it won't actually cut anything. Duh!

Gimmicked Knife for Credit Surprise?

Heyo, I recently picked-up a Credit Surprise and the thing that seems to be the biggest disappointment with this trick is the goofy wand/saw thing it comes with. It's obvious there's no way to actually cut a real credit card with that thing (which has been stated many times before). So I was thinkin...

Re: Gave my first ALL Tenyo Show Yesterday...

Thanks, Brett! I'm new to all this but I feel like building a good show is a bit like making a mixtape. Thinking about your audience and having a solid opener, entertaining middle section and ending that will leave them with something to talk about is key! The whole thing was somewhere between 15 an...

Gave my first ALL Tenyo Show Yesterday...

So far I've just been doing one-off tricks for friends and family but yesterday I did a complete (albeit short ) show for my nephew's birthday party for about 20 people (kids and adults). It went over really well! The kids and adults kept talking about it for hours after it was over. Not that anybod...

Re: How Does One Carry?

Whoa! It's funny you bring this up, I just got a new case for my Tenyo YESTERDAY and was going to take some pictures and talk about it in a day or two once I'd had more time to work with it! I too was looking for a case to store my tricks in. I'd previously been storing them on bookshelves in my off...
