Re: Stage size Crystal Cleaver

I think it's too big. Would like to see a wooden one in the same style as the original. The one produced by Magic Wagon does not have a similar mechanism to Crystal Cleaver at all.

Would be perfect for Tenyo Elite, but have been disappointed with their offerings so far.

Re: Magic on TV

I am a fan of both Criss Angel and David Blaine. Criss Angel has a new TV show here in US on Spike TV called Believe. I am totally dumbfounded by this show. Just about every trick is over the top and the only way I can imagine how they are done is with stooges and camera tricks. In fact the stooges...

Hi Rob,

This is fantastic- I showed it to John M. shortly after I first purchased it. Beautifully made and affordable too! Do you know how it works? It is brilliant and fully examinable.

Re: Magic Wagon Triple Dice Vision now available

I also plan to pass on this one. I'm not sure why adding three dice makes the effect more powerful than one. It seems to me that if you can divine one die in a box, why not three? So it may be a bit "over engineered" in that sense.

The box is very nice looking.

Wooden Magic Sets from Melissa and Doug

I read David's recent post regarding magic sets and it reminded me of my favorite sets (aside from the Tenyo World set)! Melissa and Doug have produced a few magic sets for kids and all of the pieces are made of durable wood and are nicely decorated. Where were the sets like this when I was a kid? I...

Re: Tenyo Repairing of props.

Hi Gaz,

I would like to see a photo of the 'guts' of Mirage if you wouldn't mind sending it. I have discussed the inner workings with John M., but have never seen them.

Dichloromethane is a common organic solvent. Be careful when using it because it is a known carcinogen.

Re: Magic Wagon Ultimate Penetration Frame

Hi Rob,

Once you get 50 posts the MW post is well worth reading. While I appreciate the quality of the craftsmanship of MW items, I too have been disappointed with the most recent releases. However, Diceolation is the exception and is one of the best they have ever released.

Re: Tenyo Vanish in the Clouds

The bit with a vanishing silk using a wand like this is an old effect. It was published in How's Tricks nearly 100 years ago. Tenyo have provided a nice update to a classic effect!

Transformation Playing Cards

I was reminded of my favorite deck of playing cards this weekend, and thought I would share this link with the forum. I bought this deck back in 1996. It was packaged with a book of poetry/nursery rhymes and even included a contest. A riddle was supplied with the deck and book and the cards were use...

Re: Automata

I built the "Woody Blues" Timberkit shown in the Youtube video below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS_5b6-xuW4 I made two changes from the instructions- one aesthetic and one functional. I kept the head straight and placed the instrument at an angle whereas the instructions suggest tilting the hea...

Re: Magic Wagon Ultimate Penetration Frame

I will likely pass on this as well. The frame is really big- either the plexiglass sl**** out the frame and is hidden by the hand, or it r****** 90 degrees. Either way, the frame is too big. Also no mention of a locking mechanism either.

Thanks. The more that I think about this, many of the penetration effects might be appropriate. I think they all need to be guided, however. How about clean cut? They could feel the ends of the severed rope. If the card in Mirage were only easier to push down, it would be perfect too. Mira-metal mig...

I built the Lego Pegasus Automaton last night. It looks really cool and is fun to watch the gears spin. It was just under 500 pieces and cost a little over $100. Amida is a talented Lego designer!
