The lightning is very good too!
Lightning? I didn't see that.... Was there thunder too?
Just kidding, sorry about the dry humor...

A nice presentation Olaf, but this trick still doesn't impress me much. It is very pretty, but to me it seems obvious. There is simply too much space.

Re: Unpickable lock (not magic related)

Yes it was interesting. He really hasn't done anything that hasn't already been tried. Love to have access to those machines. :) As a locksmith you have much more knowledge about these things, so when you say it has been tried before, I have no doubts that's true. I guess it wasn't found commercial...

Yes, I guessed as much, but I found no hidden meaning in the number. I guess there wasn't, then. :-)

Re: Happy Birthday ØyvindK

Øyvind, Happy Birthday! Or should we say, 1010101010101010101? Now there's a reference I don't really get. I obviously know my number systems, but I need a hint on that one if it has a specific meaning other than being a number with many digits. Happy Birthday d87976696e644b0a !!! That one, however...

Unpickable lock (not magic related)

On YT there are lots of skilled people, and this guy puts out really interesting stuff. In his latest video he creates a lock that he thinks is more or less unpickable:

I'm quite certain that at least RichardW will find that video interesting. :)

Re: Magic Wagon - Imperial Vase Mystery

Looks nice, but handing out basically everything for examination, except the vase, sounds like a bad idea, since it will draw too much attention to the vase itself.

Better not hand out anything, in my opinion.

Re: Faith Hacker by Dr. Cyril Thomas

Looks amazing on video, but getting into the set-up is of course edited out, so I read the reviews, and found this one: I see all the 5 star reviews and yes it looks nice but in my opinion, very angle sensitive. Would be hard to do in close up. Even getting into set up would be difficult without giv...

Olaf, that is a huge improvement over your first video. Video quality is loads better, and one can appreciate all the intricate details on the props. The book/stand also makes more sense now.

Just watched again after 2 years....I had forgoten this video!!....the way you hide the secret is very clever!! Yes, very clever indeed. I rewatched it again now, and suddenly I realized how he did it, even though I don't own the prop. I once started working on my own version, but due to the need f...

Re: Magic Wagon - Khamun Ring Mystery

Both are good videos, but Madison does something rather clever to avoid the biggest drawback to this kind of trick. Great thinking, but probably best suited for video, where the camera is fixed. Not saying his method can't be used also in front of a live audience, but I'm fairly certain it will be s...

Re: This one baffled me...

Kirk, I don't really know, but I would wager that in this version, only the top two could be removed. Other versions exists where this limitation has been removed (Wellington Enterprises "Mystery of The Pyramids Outdone", for example), which of course makes it a better effect. I don't own any such e...

Re: Congrats Øyvind with Hextop!

There isn't really anything wrong with manufacturing, it's just that it takes a lot of time and effort (it's not just the printing itself). And also, as I mentioned above, step 2 could be solved by coincidence, and that's something I am not really happy about.

Re: Congrats Øyvind with Hextop!

Thanks, Olaf. Designing puzzles like this is fun, although coming up with magic is even better. I have had a request for manufacturing this puzzle actually, but I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.

Re: Congrats Øyvind with Hextop!

Thanks, guys. I actually sent him that puzzle many months ago, but unfortunately (as he also mentioned in the video), the second part of the solution happened by coincidence for him (so he wasn't sure whether he should make a video or not). I knew it could happen, and I had made countermeasures as b...

I just had an idea if it is not better to make a slit instead of the round hole for the narrow silk ribbon ... In my opinion this could work even better ... As a wood version this might be more difficult to realize than with a printed version Doing it that way is actually more difficult, I think. I...

Most likely, yes. At least to people in here, should anyone want it.
I am also interested in your version, curious which design you come up with :)

Question => Is it absolutely necessary to use a rubber band for the trick :?:
No, not a rubber band. It's a narrow silk/satin ribbon.

Re: BLOCKBUSTER!

There is a chance I will make a version, but I am working a bit on and off with it. As I mentioned, getting it to work reliably (as in every time) is a challenge. As far as I could read from other sources, other commercially released versions also can have this issue.
