Re: Tenyo Money Cutter Japanmagic style...
The creator of this variation is Yasuo Amano. Had I known about this while doing Tenyoism, I certainly would have included it. Even though we should admit that the original trick is not successful, the Japanese version (explained in Tenyoism) allows you to remove the cap and let the spectator look i...

Re: Tenyo magic 8
In Tenyoism you will discover that "8 Interesting Tricks" has been sold since the late 1960s or early 1970s. Can't recall now. There have been many iterations of both cover and and small adjustments to the contents. I believe they will continue selling it exactly as is for the foreseeable future.

Re: Your favourite rare tenyo piece!
I'd say that "Sidetrack" is perhaps my second favorite.
Performed it for a 10 year old girl the other day, who proceeded to exactly describe the method when I was finished. You REALLY have to watch the way the light falls onto the plastic.

Re: T-187 Mini-Morphosis
There are a number of alternative methods in Tenyoism that are quite clever and work much better than the magnet stuck to the curtain. Angelo's prototype was made of balsa wood, hence it didn't make any problematic noise. But this is certainly not the only Tenyo item which makes a thwack at the wron...

From the late 1950s or early 1960s would be my guess.
It's a common trick, hundreds of years old. There is no gimmick.

Re: 2018 tenyo
I did not say that the Bich trick is a card trick, and things are always in flux until the line actually comes out in September. Tenyo has demonstrated items at the Tokyo Toy Show that have never been marketed. They use the venue to test ideas and sometimes eliminate or change handlings completely a...

Re: Need your advice : Book Maintenance
It's called "foxing" and is the bane of book collectors. As should be obvious, it's caused by moisture. The process can be stopped but not reversed. Get some dehumidifiers and keep them running full time by your bookcase.

Don't worry if the link doesn't show what it is, but trust me, this is the Japanese version of Animation Frame.

Re: Lie Detector Animation Frame
I can't imagine that many people, at this late date, would even recognize the non-Disney version of Pinocchio. Tenyo created the trick to be done with the image from the Disney version. The only reason they used a generic version in the west is because of the limitations of their license with Disney...

Re: Lie Detector Animation Frame
You don't want to buy the one Tenyo sold outside Japan. You do want to buy the one they made for Japan, where they have the Disney license, because it has a recognizable character on it:

Re: Lie Detector Animation Frame
Victor, you have a good idea, but you are reinventing Billy's original version of the trick. His began with a lie detector that made Pinocchio's nose grow longer. Suzuki and Shimomura requested that he eliminate the Lie Detector part of the trick to simplify it. I believe they were wrong, and the th...
