Re: Vanishing Point

I really like that! I've never really used Vanishing Point much as the trick never really appealed to me but I will definitely have to give this idea a try. BTW it wouldn't really work as well with 4D truck as there is no easy way to slip the ball into the trunk. You would have to do something like ...

Re: Illusionarium

Yes, like Simon said you need to push the back in a. I believe the Magic Works instructions mention this explicitly but for some reason the Tenyo instructions only mention it when putting in the card.

Re: Show you collection

Oh c'mon I felt sure there were at least some Chinese knock off in there. And I thought my firewall was supposed to prevent virtual thefts like that! Truthfully though I could tell that the shrink wrap is old so nothing was done to it recently but it's very possible someone way back when opened the ...

Re: Show you collection

Simon, I don't know if your homemade efforts belong on the shelf of shame considering what I've seen of your other work. Anyway the room really looks great. I really have to commandeer a room in my house for a magic room. Maybe when the kids move out. Wait, I just remembered reading this article. Ne...

Re: Show you collection

Actually since I still never opened the thing,I have no idea if the Floating Lady is the DH version or the standard Tenyo version. The picture on the front and back of the box is of the standard version. By the way, as you can see, the box is humongous for only 4 tricks. I think they went out of bus...

Re: Show you collection

Really nice display. Unfortunately I don't have room for a display cabinet at all. I used to keep them in boxes but they were too inaccessible. I eventually got a really small cabinet just to store them in. Eventually this got too full and started overflowing into boxes. I recently took everything o...

Re: EOTI Colours

Ok no problem. Thanks for clearing that up.

The Eddy's magic site I linked to above is in Chinese (according to Google translate) so I assume the text on the packaging is also Chinese. That's may be why they wanted to repackage it in the first place.

That's strange. I was responding to John's post regarding Eddy's magic but my post ended up before his?

Re: EOTI Colours

I believe the Eddy's products were still manufactured by Tenyo and just re-boxed by Eddy for sale in Hong Kong. I am pretty sure they said made in Japan and had Tenyo's logo on the back of the box. The one above says "Made in China" on the back. Here is a link to the Eddy Magic Tenyo line: http://ww...

Re: Mismarked Instructions

I know what you mean. I am rapidly running out of space but my wife can't complain since she collects dollhouses :) John, my other silk to egg I bought recently so it's got the regular illustrations on the back. I actually never noticed the difference until you mentioned it. I suppose I may be willi...

Mismarked Instructions

So I recently received a really old copy of Silk to Egg. I was about to toss it into my duplicates box when I realized that the instructions were marked T-87 when it is supposed to be T-68. Except for the wrong T number the instructions were exactly the same as the newer one. The box was also marked...

Re: EOTI Colours

Actually that looks the the box for the Genuine Japanese version: http://www.tenyo.co.jp/magic_en/catalog/01_4.html#Anchor02 I think the fake one was much cheaper looking but I can't seem to find a picture of it at the moment. I was thinking about getting one way back when but passed based on the fa...

Re: WE HAVE A WINNER – Where's Tenyo 1

Thanks John and Simon for creating the contest. The picture was amazing. The Tenyo items really looked like they belonged in the picture and it was great fun finding everything. I can't believe I missed the one I missed though. It wasn't exactly hiding :-) I can't wait to see what you come up with n...

I live in New York City. I've been collecting Tenyo for 6-7 years so far. I've always always liked magic but never had much opportunity to practice it. Anyway my Tenyo odyssey started when I went to the local close-out store and saw a Marvin's Magic Mind Blowing Magic Set. I thought my son would rea...
