Re: T-129 Mirage

Cat is out of the bag! Yes, I have been quietly working on a version of Mirage over the past year or so. I showed my first prototype made out of crude cardboard to John M. Since then, I have refined the mechanism a few times and am now on my 4th generation version. The latest internal mechanism is m...

What's really striking about this is how thin the case is. It is really a marvel of engineering!

If it which one would I perform, I would pick Third Eye. If you are looking to add to the collection, it should be the car.

Re: Invisible Zone 2

Very nice and well-constructed. This looks simpler than the Lintenkabinet.

I might have gone in a different direction and done a cut and restored ribbon with it. The illusion that the ribbon is in the coil is very strong, but removing the coil gives it away a bit.

I ordered the Transformers one today:

Really looking forward to this one. The pop-up can transform into a robot when a tab is pulled. Amazing!

Re: Game of Thrones Pop-Up Book

Cheers for the recommendation for Sabuda. I ordered his Dinosaurs book and it arrived yesterday. I am very impressed by the level of work that went into this. The Dinosaurs really jump out of the pages! http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-Prehistorica-Dinosaurs-Definitive-Pop-Up/dp/0763622281/ref=pd_...

Re: Magic Wagon Trinity prediction

Yes, Trinity Prediction box is one of their better ones. I did not think very much of the Ghost Board effect and passed on it. This has been beautifully made and is priced well considering the complexity of the mechanism.

I enjoy all 3 sets- they are highly recommended, and the props are beautiful at this price point. The deluxe set is my favorite.

I would have loved to have had these when I was kid!

Hi David,

Yes the pieces are made of wood, but not hand painted. Check out my earlier thread at the link above for photos of all sets. They are great!!

Re: Game of Thrones Pop-Up Book

This pop-up book is incredible. Not only are the pop-ups intricate and beautifully illustrated, but the author was smart enough to design the book so it opens up to a large map where you can see all of the pop-ups at once. Thanks for suggesting Sabuda Victor and Simon. I have ordered a few of his po...

Game of Thrones Pop-Up Book

Today I bought a pop-up book based on the books and TV show Game of Thrones. Not magical, but a ton of work went into this, and I have never seen a pop-up book quite like it.

Re: Melissa & Doug

The coin set is neat. You get a bunch of nicely made gimmicked coins (the coins look similar to US coins, but would not withstand super close inspection). It includes a Scotch and Soda, folding coin, flipper coin, pen (cig) thru coin, shell coin, coin on elastic (like a pull), and chameleon coins. I...
