After watching the demo video I decided not to buy it ... . I already own the original version and this new one is just too expensive for me for the time being. And if I may: in the demo it seems the 'gimmick' is less concealed then with the original version, and I'm not talking about the performance where you can actually see the gimmick (they should have hired Roberto), I'm talking about the exterior of the tube which gives 'something' away ... but that could just be me knowing how it works of course.

In any case, for those who want one, now is the time. BNIP original UT's sell for more.

I was so hoping it would be China surprise.
It certain,y looks well made and its a nice choice of wood but I agree with David that the wood actually makes the gimmick a wee bit easier to spot. I think in this instance plastic was actually the optimum material for this to work best but it does look much nicer in wood.

I dont own an ultratube, so this might be an alternative for me...
but I dont own any elite product, so should i go with this one?
but as a collector, I would still prefer the original one, even if its used(anyone have one for sale?)

Part of me is happy that I don't look at trick analytically. Thanks to my layman eyes, I'm stumped by this one. Even if it is bigger.

What's nice is that you could store it in a cigar case and make a smoking routine with Zig Zag Cig.

Now that's a real elite. Love it. Very beautifully made. Is it JohnB production? I remember JohnB made one of the prototype.
If they add some laser cut for the word ultra tube in the mid of it, i think it would be not a bad idea. It will look like the original one and it give a reason why the middle part have bigger gap than the other ones. But the rest of it...just looks perfect. But maybe it will cost more than 300. Funny that the plastic one is still more expensive than the wooden version nowadays. So which one is elite actually ?

A few of guys posted at the Magic Café, that they have a problem while purchasing this. (They can pay but the item stays in the cart even after that.) Probably just some software bug, just probably good to know if some of you would like to pre order right away.

Oversold out. Tenyo Elite's Paypal account was not working properly and orders were processed after the item was sold out. So some people who thought they got one may be getting a refund. That is going to really suck for them, they are not going to be happy. It looks like it sold out very fast, within a few hours.

What I wonder is what will happen with the price of the original version. I believe chances are it will become less expensive (let's keep an eye on this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tenyo-Utra-Tube ... 3f3e296899 ), which isn't a bad thing for all those who missed this wooden one or want the original version.
I'm actually 100% certain they will do another run [edit - I just read the thread on TMC and they confirmed], if Elite is able to earn money they will not hesitate doing so, trust me. Because it's all good and well to say 'they do this for the Tenyo community out of love', in the end they need to earn money, which is understandable of course.

Now for the Elite version, I would love to have a review of it. It sure looks very classy and more professional then the original one. That said, it is indeed bigger, which is normal because wood is used and this has not the same tolerances as plastic. For people with small hands this can be a minor issue, because don't forget, while being one of Tenyo's best items, it is pretty angle sensitive! In any case it is probably one of the best tricks Elite could choose and I'm happy they took the plunge to produce such a clever mechanical item.
It would have been an instant buy for me if they had some kind of locking system provided in the tube, but I think this was impossible due to the material used (wood) and Tenyo would have probably not agreed because as far as I know from what the Elite guys posted on TMC over the last few years they want exact replica's of their original tricks.

I actually had my finger on the Paypal button, took myself a nice glass of wine while thinking about the price and what I could buy with that money, and because I more or less know what Magic Wagon will produce in the future decided to pass - tough choice but c'est la vie, choices need to be made. I also took into consideration how often I have actually performed Ultra Tube for laymen, and to be honest this has only happened a few times in several years. Sometimes it gets great reactions, but ever so often my spectators, knowing I use a lot of gimmicky stuff, will ask 'now show me that tube David', and that of course not possible.

In any case, this will be a collectors item for sure, if I had the necessary funds I would not have hesitated to buy this one without locking mechanism. I hope some of you were able to purchase it So, who bought it?

It's not an option for me, I'm stuck in the 1.99 knock off nut and bolt range for the forseeables. I think it looks beautifully made but if I could choose which to own I'd still prefer the original first. I had a dream last night actually about the ultratube and the instructions were animated. It showed that original UT had a latch on one edge and you could unfold it at the start. It then went on to show the elite version being used with steel ball bearings instead of dice, i don't know if it'd work with the gimmick but it looked really cool and had a nice weight to it and a satisfying roll. congratulations to any winners of one, if you don't know the secret you've go a treat in the way
