Spanish language Tenyo items
Hi Guys,
I promised to share with you something special regarding Tenyo. Do you remember this topic about Tenyo catalogues from last year where John posted a picture form the 1985 catalogue of some Spanish language Tenyos? (you can see John's picture from that thread attached). And here is the original discussion:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=335&p=2468&hilit=spanish#p2468
I do remember that very well. Somehow it got me curious. It seemed that no one have seen them so far. Did they even exist?
My short answer is: yes. And how do I know? After a lot of research I was able to find some of these items in Spanish packages. I will share with you more about this but right now I would like to get more information regarding them. (About their value, and how long they were produced etc.)
Just wanted to share this with you guys.
Botond

¡Ay Carumba!
I bet they're not in the book
It's great seeing that pic looking forward too seeing which ones you managed to get.
If you can't find any, or if they're too expensive, get the WordLens app, it's crazy! You can hold your iPhone over almost any text and it will translate it on your screen for you via augmented reality. I'm going to try it on my tenyo packages tomorrow and post the results

That is great news Botond. Congratulations!
I no nothing (nada) about these.
Maybe Roberto does.
Elliot is someone who can probably find out more about these. He is one of the best at finding hard to find Tenyo information and I think he would enjoy the search.
If you look at the visitor maps for either this forum or the website you can see there are very few Visitors from Spanish speaking locations like South America, Central America, Mexico and Spain.
So finding these is a TRUE MIRACLE.

Does it work with Japanese?

That`s insane super invention....thanks a lot for sharing this Simon. It looks like real magic. Hopefully the app will be updated with more free languages.
I tried to install it John, unfortunately Japanese is not yet in the list of language options. I`m not sure if we can add more languages. Still playing with it.

Re: Spanish language Tenyo items
it's an amazing app and will go towards breaking down language barriers. within 5 years or so, with things like google glasses, apps like this and smartphones, we'll all be able to talk to each other the babel fish is on the way!
I love this app, it even matches the colours and fonts as best as possible. it's crazy watching it work. they intend on adding new languages soon.
we're living in the future!

Maybe soon we will be asking if someone can send the Spanish Instructions for Squeeze Play, Midas Machine, See Through Guillotine, etc.
I find it interesting that RK did not comment about them on the Cafe. I wonder why?

Re: Spanish language Tenyo items
Hello John:
I just have the chance to look at the Mystery Tenyo section...........great work!!
A lot of never seen before info there.
Two interesting things:
_ Is curious that they changed the name for Eclipse......because exact translation in spanish is "Eclipse".....
_ Fantastica is maybe the only item that have the original name in Spanish??
Love the original Tenyo logo!!!!
Regarding hard to find Tenyos....I have a question: what about the Tenyo Gold and Silver from 1984......is it really hard to find??....it was released only on the Japanese market??

Re: Spanish language Tenyo items
Hello Roberto,
Thank you for the compliment.
Also thank you for the human translations for the Spanish Tenyo tricks. I left the Google Translations in there as well for a laugh. My favorite Google Translation is Toecutter for See Through Guillotine.
I have never seen Gold and Silver for sale and I buy a lot in Japan.
The only place I have seen it is on Stereo's site.
RK will probably have some info in it in his book. In a recent comment about the book, RK said on the Cafe "There are many many tricks that haven't been released in the US."

Re: Spanish language Tenyo items
The link is definitely worth checking out. I think that these items are at the best possible place now in John's collection. It was great to have them and holding them in my hand. As far as I know no other Tenyo collector has Spanish packaged Tenyo so far. So just go and check them out!

Yes that is a really nice addition to your collection!I've never seen them anywhere else either. Although now you will have to find the remaining two as well.

But I have never actually seen one for sale either.
It doesn't seem to have been very widely distributed in Japan.
Japanmagic has as entry about it here:JohnM wrote:I have never seen Gold and Silver for sale and I buy a lot in Japan.
