Your 'next in line'?

Post by Brett H » Sun Sep 14, 2014 1:00 am

Inspired by Bob's post of what Tenyo should he get; what is the next Tenyo that will be in out hands in the next couple weeks?

Unless you're only going after the 2015 stuff; what's going to be in your hands in about 60 days?

For me it's:

Dynamic Coins
Flash Dice
Crash Dice

2015 for me in this order..
Butterfly
Dice/mirror
Security of magic
Alchemy of magic

Unless when the videos of them come out they give me a different picture.

The cool thing about the new ones is they're affordable, a lot of what I have left on my wish list is in the higer price range now. My collections been a bit neglected the past few months so I'm looking forward to introducing some new (literally) effects. I'll get them one at a time.

very exciting, not jealous at all :) I don't have cutting edge but I think it's underrated, I had the choice of buying either cutting edge or oh-no about 5 years ago, I think if perform cutting edge more. the method will be obvious to us but I think it looks like a nice prop.

wow....5 years ago? Its funny when you say that because to me Tenyo is still so new, eventhought i know many have been made 70s 80s, but i rarely get that someone who says "i bought it ten years ago"
I am on the same boat with you!! I like those magicy props, bioshock, oh no, it just look so cool!!!!

Shopping shopping shopping is very recognizable to me...:) Always searching for fun stuff, not only Tenyos but also weird toys in the toyshop. Had this hunting for Tenyos on eBay a few years ago, now I only occasionally look on eBay for Tenyo.

My next in line is stop buying magic tricks forever... And play with all the tricks I have... But alas this addiction will never stop!

I think Cutting Edge is not a good one. We have sold it at the magic shop and it was not popular. I think it is too easy to figure out. I think it would be better if they would design it in a way where the coin would really end up exchanged to one which is really cut in half. Mostly costumers asked if they could check the two halves when they are cut. They simply did not believe that it was really cut. Although the cut in half process with the coin sliding down looks cool.
Tenyo Rocks!!! :–)

Shan, I have about 125 Tenyos, the first ones I bought in 1988, when I only occasionally bought magic including Tenyo items.
But only since 2008 I really became addicted to magic tricks, and in 2012 I started to collect Tenyo.
And this forum helped me a lot buying Tenyos I didn't know I wanted them :)

Bored and just trawling eBay, is money shock enough of aN improvement on the original to warrant getting it? Also in 4D printer vs money shock who wins?

Money shock is really good, you start with 5 white papers and end with 5 real bills. It really is a shock for the spectator :) You can use it in a shop, you pick up the white papers to pay, oh no sir, that's no real monet, oh no? - boom - here's the money! - and you can pay with it.

Yes it's more baffling than 4D printer because you only have these 5 white papers in your hand.

Cool :) so does it come with toy bills or do you have to supply your own? I guess it doesn't fit UK bills so I'd need to use dollars. Is the gimmick any different to what I already have (I can't remember the the name but it's an old trick with the same principal, I just wondered if Tenyo had improved on it)

Simon, this trick does not come with the bills, you can get it either in the 1000 Yen version or the 10000 Yen version, they are different is size so its best to see which version match your currency.
And as for the "old trick", you mean Extreme Burn? Because I have that one and it uses similar idea but for the EB you turn small bills into bigger bills, I had to make mine different because I use Canadian.
But the Tenyo one turns white paper into bills.
hope this Helps!

Cheers Shan. I made a version of a trick about 6 years ago where you turn white paper into dollar bills. I bought the original in a magic shop but it used funny money so I made my own, when I get home I'll photo the envelope it came in. I'm just wondering if there is an improvement on the method/workings of if Tenyo just picked up an older effect and polished the manufacture up a bit
