Tenyo 2020

Post by magicjeff » Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:57 pm

Hey guys, so I figured, start of the new year, so we open guesses for the upcoming 2020 tenyo! While this year was great..LOVE chocolate break, I am going to put a few guesses out there....

I would say a card effect for 2 to start and I think a levitation is due!

what do ya`ll think?

We got spoiled this year with zero card effects. I’m sure 2020 will have some. Probably 2.

I agree that we are due for levitation.

I think we also need something regarding coins

I would LOVE to see them release a line of specialty re-releases. Pull some of the great tricks out of their history of releases, and perhaps offer some updates.

I think all of us would love to see that! They have done a couple but I don’t expect them to make a habit of it.

You never know...

I would love to see 2020 follow in the footsteps of the releases for 2019.

No mentalism, no card tricks (except maybe the plus 1 effects), and more “old school” tricks similar to the 2019 releases.

Something like the following:

Coin Trick –Something new and out of the ordinary.
Origami Box type illusion made miniature.
Division of a small figure into 4 sections and then restored.
A new and clever floating object effect that doesn’t use invisible thread

I too would love to see Tenyo re-release a few “classic” effects….updated and improved.

I think some of Tenyo's best tricks were mentalism tricks. I wouldn't mind a killer mental effect in the lot.

Ah yes, a great mentalism effect would be great, and yes a re release of an old effect, like what they did with fortune sticks 2 years ago, we shall see! anyways keep the guesses coming!

I have been scouring the web for new info and haven’t found anything yet. Based off of how good the effects were in 2019 I am very curious what 2020 will look like.

Haven't been able to find much either. Couldn't find anyone that posted any pics or videos.
It seems one of the tricks is called Super Notepad and one is Card Fishing. Possibly shown on the screen in the pic here: https://twitter.com/magic18jpn/status/1 ... 4102748161
Otherwise I found a couple of videos that have the tricks playing in the background but unfortunately the video takers weren't really interested in them.

From what I understand, there will be a mini Gravity Box which is the size of a card box. The spectator cannot lift it.

That could be the mini cards and black box Victor has mentioned.

Oh, and I also heard that there may be an improved version of CROSSROADS!!!

And a card trick or two as well...

So, five new tricks and maybe two or three really good ones. :o

On the first video there was a trick where a sword was being placed through a slit in the top of a box and on the second video, I did see a yellow Crossroads looking trick. :)

The sword looking thing is like a matchbox penetration effect but uses mini cards.

Wonder if the crossroads trick uses a method similar the alternate version shown in Tenyoism.

There is a World’s Greatest Magic item which is the CARD LASSO effect. That is, finding a selected card.

Yet another card location trick! Maybe Tenyo should put out a box set of all of the card locating effects they have released to date. There have been many and some are really good ones.

It looks like 2020 will be a pretty good year for Tenyo magic. Of course, everyone has there personal preferences so all will not be happy.

Someone posted this on FB and he got the info from Hitomi. Would be great to inform the members here :

Tenyo 2020 descriptions.

Card Fishing (World Greatest Magic)

A card is selected and returned to the deck. The deck is placed into a paper bag and the bag is shaken to mix the cards. A rope is held by the magician, and one end is placed into the bag. The rope is lifted out with the selected card tied to the rope.

(I'm hoping there is more to this. This would be very impressive if a card is freely selected.)

The Gravity

Show a red rope and place it on spectator’s hand. Mention that this rope has a magical power. Magician makes a loop with the rope and places it on the table. Next, magician places a clear card case in the center of the loop. Magician is able to lift the card case, but magically, the spectator cannot lift it.

(This one sounds weird. Reminds me of the invisible credit card lock from a few years ago.)

4D Cross.

This trick is similar to Tenyo Crossroads T-107, but uses keychain sticks instead of pencils.

Show two keychain sticks, and a tube that they can fit through at right angles. One stick is placed into the tube. The other stick is inserted into the other tube and is pushed right through the first stick. The two sticks have penetrated each other.

(Perhaps if you can move both sticks, this would be something)

Super memo pad

Draw a bill on the memo pad. Instantly, the magician turns the drawn bill into a real bill from the memo pad, in front of spectator’s eye. Memo pad is now blank.

(This looks cute)

Mystery Blade

Magician shows a deck of miniature cards and asks spectator to select one card. The cards are placed into a card case that has two holes on the top and bottom.

This case is placed into a black box that also has two holes on top and bottom. A blade is shown and shoved into the holes in the black box and case, penetrating the cards.

Remove the blade, then open the black box and remove the miniature cards from the case.

Spread the miniature cards to show that only one card has a slit in it. This is the selected card.

(This just screams Tenyo)

The following is not Tenyo 2020, but as World Greatest Card Magic.

Completed prediction

Releasing in August

Show a black envelope, and place it on the table. Mention that there is one prediction card in this envelope.

Hand a deck of cards to the spectator, then ask the spectator to start dealing out cards face up, one by one.

Spectator can stop dealing at any time.

Take the black envelope, and show the card from the envelope. This matches the card the spectator stopped on.

As far as this year goes. I'm most excited about 4D Cross/Crossroads 2: Electric Boogaloo, and The Gravity.

4D Cross sounds like something I'm definitely getting. The Gravity, I need to see a demo of.

Thank you for the interesting preview of the upcoming Tenyo stuff. From the look of the props alone it might be 4D Cross and the Mystery Blade for me.
