Mystic Blackboard

Post by David (Felderswynne) » Tue Sep 16, 2014 5:55 pm

Hello Everyone,
I was curious about this effect. It is a fairly common effect but at times, seems difficult to locate, so I gather it has been discontinued? However, there is no mention of this anywhere that I have seen. Does anyone know?

Yeah it's definitely been discontinued. The only recent sale I've seen was a NIP one that went for $35.00 on eBay: http://www.tenyomarket.com/tricks/T-225

You can get one at the dynamite magic shop if you want to pay the shipping which will be high.

Mystic Blackboard Tenyo 2007 (1991)

€19,50 Plus shipping.

Also you can get one on Amazon in UK again if you want to pay the shipping.

Or you can wait and pay more than it is worth on ebay.

And yes it has been discontinued.

You can see the entire list of what is and not discontinued on the Official Tenyo Site below.

You can also get it at The Magic Warehouse for $27.50.

It's a pretty good trick although not one of my favorites. What's I do like about it is that it a very versatile prop. You can pretty much make up whatever routine you want.

I use is together with Dan Harlan's Card Toon trick. I introduce the magician on the Card Toon cards and do that trick. Then I show the same fellow drawn on the mystic blackboard (that's basically ball I can draw anyway) and he is holding a giant blank card. I have the spec pick a card ,then uncover the blackboard again and behold the magician has done it again! He is holding the spectator's card. :)

Forgot about The Magic Warehouse that is much better place to get it if you are in The USA. ;)

it is unique for me, but not at all a must have tenyo, because I never performed it, it seems very obvious how it is done but at the same time it looks good on display so I bought it:)

Thanks David to raise this issue up and thanks to Shan and Elliot for the feedback. What I`m excited about, it could be partially handed out for examination and i believe the principal is totally different from the famous "out to lunch" principal. It still fooled me :)

By the way Elliot, I like the idea...which version of Card Toon do you have or like to perform ? The magician who pulls the card out of his top hat or the cool cannon animation ? Both are awesome from my opinion.

I have both of them but I prefer the first one with the top hat and almost always perform that one. And I'll sometimes perform the Tenyo version when I feel a more elegant effect is required..
