Magic Cabinet

Post by SimonC » Sun Mar 09, 2014 11:14 am

inspired by Pers Magic corner, I repurposed my (ever empty) drinks cabinet to give my my tenyo a safe new home away from my rather damp shed. After nearly killing myself with my laughable electrical skills, and a long but satisfying morning sorting out my tricks I'm finally done!
It's mirrored on the inside so placement of some tricks was tricky.
it also has a pull out table to practice on too and helps check your angles.
I would like to say thank you to mazza and everyone on the forum who has helped me with my collection this past year, i am now going to spend the rest of 2014 with my head in this cupboard! it makes me smile every time I open it up and the light comes on, it's like I have walked into a magic shop but it's all mine!!
see if you can spot my addition to the top (b/w pic)

It's too crowded but but I like it. Now I understand that there are two ways to display Tenyo props, the museum type and the magic store type. Both displays are stress relievers. The colors and design of these pieces are very pleasing to the eyes so that we feel beauty when we see it.

Because I have limited space I will follow your style and display my Tenyo in the same manner. Thank you Simon for sharing the pictures.

That's not the addition, but it was delicious ;)
I've had my head stuck in this cabinet all day, I can't quite take a picture that shows how awesome it looks!

Your own toy shop Simon! Looks fantastic!
And I especially like the pull out table to practice, play, and get inspired just at the looks of all the gems!

Well done rob :) it wasn't a contest sorry, the only prize is kudos!
I've spent all day in here, I don't want to come out because then it will be Monday and I'll have to deal with 1500 children. If only I can install a small fridge...

Stunning view Simon!Just like spring season wild flowers popping up after the long freezing winter time, it eases or removes stress upon viewing your Collections. I have viewed it several times and your MCB joined your collection quickly as you've wish.

Hi Simon,

After looking more detail to your cabinet, I assume that the light will turn off after you close the door right ? I hope so. But if this remains open then the light always turns on. Or you can switch it off manually ? Did you consider the heat here ? The distance between the lamp and some of your tenyos at the top compartment is quite close. As we knew, plastic and heat will never be a good friend in this case. Just want to point this out before something worst happen. Sorry my friend, not to give an extra work, but preventive action is much better than regrets.

I had the same thought Victor don't worry :)
Fortunately the light is only on when the door is open, I may put the top shelf on some sort of rotation so nothing gets the full force of the light :)
