Badlands Bob

Badlands Bob or a few other names depending on where you buy it,this is a knock off version but very nicely made. GREAT close-up miracle, ready to perform any time, any where.
The performer displays a small walnut box with a die sealed within. The die can be seen through the clear acrylic top
A spectator is asked to try and change the uppermost number on the die by shaking the box, which he soon finds is impossible. The performer then asks the spectator to choose a number between 1 and 6
The performer simply brings the box up to his lips and gives a soft blow over the surface, and the die magically changes to show the selected number!
Instantly resets and therefore is a great walk-around effect. Can be examined before and after. No awkward moves; done right under their noses

I saw this performed once, but the performance was very bad so I didn't buy it. I immediately saw what the performer 'did' ... . But I agree Pete, when performed in a good way with some (simple) misdirection this one is a nice litle trick!
I believe this is what Magic Wagon's Diceolation is based on, but MW's version is totally self working (and not a 'pocket trick' ;) ) however very expensive nowdays.

I have the original Badlands Bob from Viking, and the 'thing' that cones with the trick is not very handy to my opinion. A PK ring is better. But you must take some time in it to make this work fluent. I haven't yet taken that time I must admit :)

Yes rob i have a couple of pk rings but mine tend to be the wrong attraction, mine seem to be more attracted across the dimeter of the circle of the ring if that makes sence :D

Yes also with a PK ring the fumbling remains :)
By the way, talking about PK rings, I have one with a rubber ring around it, to prevent talking! That is really an improvement!

A long long while ago I was considering getting a Badlands Bob.

It seems like more of a puzzle for spectators rather than a trick itself. And the price tag of the Viking version really turned me away.

But honestly, I think using this AND Flash Dice together could make for an entertaining routine.

Hey, Simon! Would this work in your classes? I figure the Dragons Altar would have been worn out by now. :D
Where's my colon?!
