I just wanted to tease you guys a bit. If I were you, I would watch this space. You're going to be disappointed if you miss out ;)

The suspense is killing me. I hope this new effect is released soon! :D

For a good time, go to the 3D Magic Works site, view and read about the two versions of their latest masterpiece CARD PUNCH, watch the demos, and place your order!

One uses a metal ball and the other a casino die. Both are spectacular! Order both and save $!! :D

Here are the demos for both!

Card Punch Die Version:

Card Punch Steel Ball Version:

I still stand by my statement that this is the most deceptive penetration effect is ever seen. I will keep this in view so that I can show anyone and everyone who asks about it! It’s such a good trick. It has fooled everyone I’ve shown it to with flying colors.

Go buy both! And hurry! I have a feeling these will sell out.

Those are really good effects. I like the videos especially the dice one. Funny the inflections in your voice when you discovery it didn't punch a hole in the card and will notify the company and get back with us. :D

Great videos of great effects. Kudos.
My biggest concern is what angles these new effects have. Can you perform surrounded?

I had the same concern about the angle. I would say it has to be watch almost straight on. No way it can be done surrounded. I would like to be proven wrong. ;)

Well done Madison and Kent ! :) Great work as always. This reminds me somehow to Tenyo Great Escape but I believe this has totally different technique :)

Doesn't say on 3D Magic Works that it can be examined. Madison can these card punch effects be examined before or after? Are they angle sensitive, can they be done surrounded?

Here’s what I’ll say to answer the questions so far:

I would say it can be done surrounded. Could it be done surrounded by YOU guy? No. But by laypeople, I think it can. The secret moment happens so quickly that I doubt it could be seen by people who are looking where they are supposed to look. This said, it’s probably most visually appealing head on. Luckily, I have a feeling most people on here rarely perform these in surrounded conditions ;) I would be willing to bet you only performer for one or two people at a time because of the intimacy of the pieces.

As for examinability, I’ve handed it out every time I’ve performed it and no one has found anything. If you want to be extra “safe” you can hand it all out before you perform the trick. But I would say yes, it’s absolutely examinable.

Also! This is in the description, but some people may have missed it: the steel ball version actually includes a bonus handeling which cannot be done with the die version. I thought about including it in the demo, but ultimately decided it would make for a nice suprise when you find out what it is.

Thanks for all that information. That made up my mind for my first order ever on 3D Magic Works to get both and save $10.00. I seen the bonus effect in the description which I think is excellent. ;)

Ok my order has successfully been placed. I never ordered from 3D Magic Works before because of the wait time for them to make the items, with this it is pre made ready to ship.

ØyvindK
Yes I have figured it out how it is done too but didn't discourage me from ordering it as I cannot make one myself. In this case make both myself. ;)

I've removed my post about figuring it out, as it was too close to exposure. I did not mean to do that, so I removed it.

Yes his new system is much better since it cuts out the wait time! The good news is, all of his older products are ready made now too. So if you see something that’s “in stock,” it will be shipped within a day or two :)

In the order comment section I put in a good word about you as the reason this is my first order. The excellent demos and the talk about them on the forum. ;)

Thank you Richard! That means the world to me :) I’m thrilled the performance and discussion helped you take the plunge into the world of 3D printed magic.

This effect reminds me of an old Tricks Co. Ltd Japan trick called "Ninja Die Thru Card" by Tsuyoshi Nojima.

I believe the method is identical to "Card Punch." With the Tricks Co. effect, the card is held to the frame with metal clips on the two short ends of the frame. You can show the front & back of the frame with the card clipped in place both before and after the penetration. Any angle issues are taken care of by the handling during the presentation. Only one die and one card is used and all can be handed out for examination at the end of the trick. As you can see from the picture, the card is visible through the small windows at all times (cleaver thinking regarding this aspect of the trick).

Having said all that, I really like the design/look of 3D Magic Works "Card Punch" and will most like purchase the Dice version. :D

Kirk,
You hit the nail on the head! I knew I saw this somewhere before, but couldn't put my finger on the source.

Well done!

I agree about the 3DMW version being a nice upgrade. I've been waffling back and forth between the die and the ball. I like the ball as a prop, but the die looks more impossible than the ball.

Ahhh... The deal on both is hard to resist. :( !!

I like the Dice one better for the look and seems more amazing when you see it done. But the steel ball one you can have it drop into spectators hand which can't be done with the dice. So I got both for that reason. I will decide which one I like the best when they get here might not keep both but likely will as I seem to never get rid of anything. ;)

Richard,
Yup... I completely agree (about the Die version), and...
Yup... I bought them both.

I’m not certain. I’m sure Kent will produce more since these weren’t a limited release (as I originally thought they were going to be.)

They were $59.00

There’s still some Steel Ball versions available though! But if you want it, you better hurry because it won’t be long and those will be gone too.

I knew the dice version would be sold out the first day that's why I didn't wait. And decided to get both. Surprized the steel ball version is still there. But since it is the only choice left won't be long untill it vanishes too.
