Your Lego version is very nice, Rob.

There is one moment where something slightly unnatural happens in your performance though, and that is when you push the ribbon down at around 54 seconds into the video. The left box (as viewed) then moves instead of just the ribbon. It's a bit hard to explain that just from ribbon friction. :-)

But I guess you also noticed that, and we both know why it happens. :-)

Yes I know Øyvind... But with the right performance this can be avoided :) I made a quick video and didn't rehearse it because of the time consuming preparation...

I'm lazy, I know :)

We both did a great job by making our own version of this effect.

I've been working on a brand new ribbon illusion now (a quite deceiving one, I hope), and if all goes well with my prototype, I might be able to post some pictures and a video tomorrow. It is possible I have done something quite new, at least I haven't seen the exact same method/setup used before.

Fantastic Øyvind! I can't wait to see what you've come up with!

Maybe I've set the expectations too high with the above post? Well, we shall see. The prototype is ready, so now I'll have to shoot pictures and a video. I don't have the patter ready yet, but I might start with some still photos of the prototype first, and then a video when ready.
