Very nice and well-constructed. This looks simpler than the Lintenkabinet.
I might have gone in a different direction and done a cut and restored ribbon with it. The illusion that the ribbon is in the coil is very strong, but removing the coil gives it away a bit.

Rob Rand Lintenkabinet is a little different considering that you have a middle section of the ribbon that actually moves when you pull the extremes.

This is a great idea, and it can be changed into Lintenkabinet easily, the use of the spiral actually makes the full cabinet with doors superfluous!
