Mendoza cups and balls
A bit surprised that you don’t see often someone perform Mendoza’s Cups and balls on Youtube, except for John Mendoza himself taken from an instruction video...
It’s easier to follow than the Dai Vernon cups and balls. And practically sleight free
So during these days sitting home I practiced this routine, and made a video:

I have the Johnson cups, which are fantastic for this routine.

Rob
Very good performance was really entertaining. Cups and Balls was the first magic trick I ever bought. Seen it done with simple plastic Adams cups and balls I was in awe. Still my favorite trick. The viking cups look nice and have a good ring to them. Mendoza’s version is something I haven't seen before many things going on there.

Re: Mendoza cups and balls
Thank you Richard. By the way, they're Johnson cups, which are imho better than the Morrissey cups. The Johnson cups are CNC machined from one block of brass...
And the Mendoza routine is from 1971, it's so old that no one knows it anymore
Easier to follow than the nowadays standard routine by Dai Vernon, which is too difficult for me, especially the Vernon wand spin...

Hmm yes, but they’re pretty expensive. And you need an extra Johnson chop cup. Bought these in 2008, but then they were about 100 euro cheaper...
But you can use cheaper C&B combo cups, like from Bazar de Magia

Re: Mendoza cups and balls
Ha! Found an old video from 2008 where I perform the same routine for family.
I used the Morrissey cups. I was pretty short haired then.

Just for fun

Also a very nice performance, Rob. A cosy meal in the garden and magic entertainment by Rob the Younger: what a lucky family you have!

Thank you Ralf! But I discovered that sound and video didn't synchronize … So I deleted this video and added it uncut on my brotherbor channel
And I corrected the video link above.

Rob, seriously, WOW! I (kind of) know how you did it, but I didn't see you do it (even after several views of your performance)! That sais enough I suppose.
Very, very well done my friend ... . You did it perfectly. I also like cups and balls but need a lot more practicing time, something I don't have (for now).
Again, absolutely wonderfull, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your performance. Smooth, funny, and above all, SLOW. SLOW is good, trust me.
All the best to everyone, and try to keep yourself and your family safe
David

Re: Mendoza cups and balls
Thank you so much David... I really practiced a lot, recorded it, saw weaknesses, corrected them, and there you have it! I mean my most recent performance.
And yes, I discovered that doing it in a slow pace, that suits more my style, and it is better for the audience to follow...
I find most performances too fast, it spoils the fun for the spectators.
And hey, I'm glad to hear from you David!
I had serious plans to visit you this year, but corona prevents this now...
