3D Printers are Amazing!

Post by JohnM » Thu Jul 18, 2013 12:40 am

How cool is this. Imagine the magic props that can be made.

Get a 3D printer into the hands of someone like Angelo Carbone or Lubor Fiedler and look out.

If you want to make your own magic props, start learning CAD software because the future is bright.

Check out this site. http://www.shapeways.com

You can buy 3d Printed items direct from the creators.

There are some really amazing things.

It is great to see what is currently being done and what is possible.

You can also get a good feel for the quality.

Some of the prices are really good too.

This one is so cool.

3D printing is just getting better and better, it's very exciting stuff.
If you're planning on breaking your arm in about 5years this is what you can look forward to, breathable, shirt-friendly, non-itchy super cool 3d printed casts! And if you can't wait till then you can get custom heads of yourself that click onto action figures. Or you could put your foes onto wonder woman...

I really like the 3 doodle, 3d painting! Thanks Roberto for sharing!

And I didn't know Oskar van Deventer, our Dutch genius with I believe only rotational elements in his brain :), also used the 3d printer for his creations, but it doesn't surprise me at all! I have loads of puzzles from Oskar!

And yes Simon, 3d printing is a enormous step forward in the Healthcare section, printing exact replica' of missing body parts like bones...

and eventually valves, arteries etc. it's incredible. I tell my classes and they say I'm talking rubbish then I tell them to get their iPhones out and show them my first mobile phone, and say if someone showed me a video of an iPhone at school I would have said it was a fake.

Agree that Oskar is kind of a genious.....taking a quick tour on his creations is enough to get convinced.

I have bought 2 items from him.....the ones from shapeways comes not dyed and I'm to lazy to do it so he offered to send me his dyed copies.....very kind from his side.
