Good luck as the sniper from hell will be back in town and grab up this new set as he did with the first set. You cannot beat him if he wants anything Tenyo. Only way is if he stops which I haven't seen happen yet. I was just lucky everyone was out of town for the memorial holiday or I wouldn't have won the set I got. ;)

He buys and resells all things tenyo so he basically stocks up on dups of everything. All you need to do is follow that bouncing ball.

That's his 4th or 5th set ?! Wow ... I didn't bid since I'm really not interested in having three of these dolls.
Do you think the 'horder' will sell one doll at a time in the near future Richard?

He doesn't sell on ebay ever or online that I know of.
But ya he would be happy to sell you just one for 300.00
He knows for sure aren't going to win one on ebay long as he has a breath of air left in his lungs.

Getting back to the banks for a sec...
JohnM wrote:Here is a link to a French Tenyo Tribute Site (not Stereo's) that shows a nice assortment of the banks.

Here is the French Translation of the text next to the bank where Mickey is flying on a bird.

ART BANK (large)
Creator: Shigeru Sugawara

Two animated versions (a satellite that rotates and Mickey on the back of a goose which flaps its wings).
Elliot W. wrote:I've never seen the satellite one though. Got to keep an eye out for that one.
Well i did manage to find a copy of the Satellite bank albeit with some cosmetic damage on the top of it. Since it came new in it's original shrink wrap I thought there was just some dirt on the plastic but it looks like some moisture or something got under the plastic and did some damage. if anyone knows of a way to clean/restore it please let me know.

Anyway the bank itself is completely different than the Flying Mickey bank. The Mickey bank works with a lever under the coin slot. When the lever is pushed it shakes the wing of the bird.
The Satellite bank is battery operated. When you insert the coin, the coin itself completes the circuit which causes the satellite to move.

the effect is amazing and I love the idea of using the coin to complete the circuit. it does look a bit like a flying penis tho ;)

I got the yoda/darth vader version a while ago now, I think it was around the time episode one came out and I seem to remember it was from pizza hut. I know KFC had an awesome range of star wars toys too.

I believe it was Taco Bell that distributed these over here.

Just curious but has anyone seen any other Tenyo Double Worlds?
It sounds like they made a bunch of them but I have barely seen any.
There is a bird one shown on Stereo's site and I found this Disney version but besides for these and Star Wars I haven't seen any others.

Those are cool. I have seen the Star Wars but never the Mickey one Elliot is showing. Is that Color on one side and B&W on the other? That is clever.

I only have the red cube one. Elliot if you find any duplicates, I would like to buy one or two from you.

In the Genii cover article on Sugawara they talk about him inventing the Art Cube. In fact the article starts off with that. Other than that, the article is really, really thin and no new information is provided. I was looking forward to some insight on my favorite Tenyo inventor but was really disappointed. I am puzzled as to why this was a cover article.

Yes it is black and white on one side with mickey standing on the ground. The other side has Mickey jumping in the air with a rainbow appearing and everything turning to color. My little nieces really liked it when I showed it to them. It is also bigger than the standard art banks at almost 3.5 inches.
I came across almost by accident really but i will let you know if I happen to bump into any others. They were sold in Tokyo Disneyland by the way. Don't know if they are still there.

Didn't see the Genii article but I know that this was probably his most commercially successful creation. I wonder if anyone has a collection of all the art banks/double worlds they made.
It would be interesting to see what other interesting ones are out there.

There's a nifty Ghostbusters Double World on Ebay right now if anybody wants one for their collection.
Haven't seen that one come around too often...
