Re: Magic Wagon Z-frame
Im going to try and work this one out today, it's bank holiday in England so I have an extra day to scratch my head about this .
Now you see me...
Re: Magic Wagon Z-frame
I been scratching my head to got a bald patch now
Re: Magic Wagon Z-frame
could be a l l I noticed that the bottom 2 buttons on his shirt are the same color as his shirt but the one above is white when the frame is in front of his shirt you cant see the join through the glass nor the buttons.
Re: Magic Wagon Z-frame
the buttons are the same color its just the light but you cant see the join in the front of the shirt when the frame is in front of him just a theory
Re: Magic Wagon Z-frame
good spot
I've just had a thought and think I have an idea based on the 'tipping' movement and the slightly frosted glass. I think there's a part which is clear on the top and bottom thirds and white in the middle. but that's all I'll say as this is public

yes more white balance in the middle
Re: Magic Wagon Z-frame
These are also my first thoughts on this trick but the design is beautifulRichard Kaufman wrote:Does it do anything a Sidetrack doesn't? You can put a signed sticker on the jumbo card in Sidetrack in the same place as with the card shown for Z Frame.Sidetrack is nice because the frame in which the jumbo card is held is no larger than the card: it fills it completely. This version from Magic Wagon has an enormous frame to hold a little card in the middle. Looks kinda pretty, but doesn't make a lotta sense.
For me more a collectors item because it is a eye catcher and very well made

May I chime in, even three years later?Richard Kaufman wrote:Does it do anything a Sidetrack doesn't? Look carefully... You will see that the playing card is in fact much larger than the frame. So saying that Z Frame has an "enormous frame to hold a little card" might be, at least, a bit exaggerated...
Here are the first prototypes I received... I agree that the frame in the 1st one probably looked a bit too large. I made the comment to the Magic Wagon team. The final product looks just fine in my opinion, considering the method involved. I never understood why they put a blurry glass over the window...
By the way, this wasn't an initiative of mine, but more of a request from our Magic Wagon friends.
"Mr Simon, we would like to produce a version of Mark Setteducati's Zig Zag Lady: How would you do it?"
Of course, my main challenge was to keep the frame narrower than the card, without solving it the "Tenyo way" (e.g. with a hinged cover). So I suggested this "Photo Frame" type of design...
Thanks for the generous review David! Glad you liked the method!

Re: Magic Wagon Z-frame
On the above pic, the width of the frame vs the larger width of the card is more obvious, I believe.
Rob, thanks for your post... I'm late, but I'm glad you liked it!
