In the meantime to make the best out if Four Elements, I developed a great routine for this trick, whereby the Egyptian sign play a big role. I hope to make a video soon on my channel concerning Four Elements. But perhaps I first should wait for Simon to make special chips.

And in general I agree with JohnM and other members about Magic Wagon. I actually stepped in rather late in with collecting MW tricks, only since Majestic Penetration Die. And I skipped a lot of their items.
But I will be more critical from now on.

While I appreciate these tricks appeal to collectors, I'm not convinced they have a strong impact on laymen. I think the effects play more like a puzzle, evoking curiosity from spectators, as opposed to a simple vanish of a spongeball, or a coin matrix where the spectators can't believe their eyes.

Just my 2 cents.

That is correct in most cases Joel, as in 'wanna see something really special and beautifull'? MW focuses on the collectors market, a niche in the magic market. Although some of their releases are what I consider to be 'workers'.

You are in general right about Magic Wagon Joel, also because of the high prices I am very careful with these tricks and definitely don't carry them with me (although I once performed Zingana Box at the office, with great success). The Tenyos are easier to pick up and perform.

The peek on Four Elements is on the front side, which is not the case with Aromatic Divination.
And I must admit that Tele-vision box (see my video) is way better.
See also the posts in Magic Cafe Secret Session about MW.

I believe I am wrong. Aromatic Divination has the same front peek as Four Elements. After watching the demovideo I came to this conclusion. So you are right Roberto. So the Aromatic divination is a good alternative to Four Elements, and much cheaper! Intelligent people can sometimes be very stupid :) I'm talking about myself of course!

With the Magic Wagon versión you have the advantage that you can show the interior of the lid............I believe that you cannot do that with the Aromatic Divination.

What I find really anoying from the Magic Wagon versión Is why they put these 3 symbols in the top of the cover.....I mean.....I don't care if they are egiptians or whatever.......but is rare that they just put 3 drawings if the tricks consist of 4 items.....is kind of confusing.......also agree with all that has been said about the graphic design, the Font selection and size and the necessity of include any word in the body of the prop (whatever is the language).

The more I think about the way the performer has to 'handle' these kind of 'peek-boxes' (which basically use the same kind of gimmick), the less impressed I am ... .
The moment I read a description of a magic effect that sais something like "and while the performer holds the box in full view he announces the blablabla ..." I get a feeling that it's just not for me. When the box is examinable it's definately a plus but all things considered these kind of gimmicks where you have to 'open' something in some way while using some misdirection is just, and that's my personal opinion of course, not that good of a trick.

There are many other mechanical ways of 'peeking' that arouse much less suspicion. Take Tenyo's Diabolicus for example. Or The Mummy Mystery. The performed just LOOKS or in the case of Mummy Mystery only has to FEEL the box to reveal the chosen symbol or color. I know there's only one reveal and with the tricks discussed in this thread there are three but do you guys really think that matters much to laymen?

Anyhow, just wanted to ventilate this opinion ;)

:? Today I received specially made chips with Egyptian 4 elements on it from Simon, and I must say, first these symbols are more in line with the Egyptian symbols on the outside of the box, secondly Simon added some special foam under them so that they do not slide anymore!
Now I can develop a routine together with the Egyptian Tarot deck, from which I took the symbols!

So... If anyone wants chips with other symbols which do not slide, ask Simon! He can make them in any color and with any symbol you wish!
All in all, I am very happy with them!

The new chips made by Simon look really nice. The box design also has a cool look. One thing that really bugs me is the bright color label with the symbols is not appealing to me. If it was a brass plate with laser etched symbols it would look more impressive when opened. For the price MW charges for these items would it be too much to ask for them to at least try to level and center it. Granted it is not extremely off level and center but enough to drive me up a wall to look at it at any price.

Doesn't look brass in the pic looks like a white pic of paper... so it's a bright light or flash glare.
So then that is much better it is in fact brass which I thought it should be but still isn't centered or level.

Nothing bugs me more that something not placed correctly when it takes a few minutes to do it right but I didn't buy one so I can't complain. Just made an observation of the obvious. ;)

Here is a better picture of the brass? anyway it is a metal plate with gold look, with etched letters and symbols fllled in with black.
Four Elements inside.jpg

And yes, it is not aligned precise, and I can't change that, because it has something to do with the gimmick.

Rob

That is a really good picture of that finish on that plate.
Humm it has something to do with the gimmick, that is different I didn't suspect it.
Maybe being off a little makes it even less suspicious. ;)
