Magic Wagon Majestic Homing Die

Post by David DeTenyo » Sat Sep 13, 2014 4:25 am

The classic trick of the litle box where you take a die from and it reappears inside has been taken to a new level. It has been long since I had a Magic Wagon effect that will be an instant buy for me, but this one certainly is. The developer is Simon Corneille so it will be great I'm sure. A wonderfull addition to the other two Majestic effects I own (Die Penetration (also by Simon corneille) and Hydro Die). Great routines will be possible I'm sure (the die from Hydro Die for example can be used with Die penetration).

More info can be found in TMC's secret sessions area, but it basically is the same routine as you can see here: http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_i ... ts_id=5030. However the gimmick to my understanding will be much more clever. Non examinable though but for this kind of effect (being a non-mentalism trick) I can live with that.

Really great news David, transforming a small trick you can buy very cheap (I have that cheap one) into a more impressive effect!
Like they did with the spiked coin effect!

The method used will be different from the cheap trick, it's just not a nicely made wooden version of it. That's all I can say about it - I even said too much already ;)

Well John, there are a lot of old tricks that are remade from wood or brass, like Ball and Vase from wood or brass, Spiked Coin from brass, with the same price tag as Magic Wagon.

Although there is a cheaper Spiked coin from brass you can buy for only 25 $!
http://dennymagic.com/store/brass-spike ... -used.html

It just looks more impressive when it's made from wood or brass.

This time the prop looks really nice Rob and really beautifully made I would say. Although I can assume on how it work, this version is really a nice one. Would you make a demo of this after you receive it ? ;) The idea using the extra box to vanish the die is really good. It`s like watching a small scale illusion. I believe this one will not stop you to buy magic props because it is a"musthaveitemifnotyouwillregret" ;) Wish you great fun with it Rob ! :D

Rob, I also order one! Do you think the top of the small chest operates like the top on "Mini Phantom"? This really looks great!

I have also ordered it. And I think the secret will be more diabolical then most of us think. The litle box is cute. For 200 USD, which still is a lot of money, you're buyign two effects: the hanging box which can make a die reappear and the litle box that makes the die dissapear.

Thanks for the link Roberto - I had not heard of this shop before and their items look very good.

That majestic homing die looks lovely I have to say. Do you think if I sent MW a decent digital camera they'd send me one? Their pictures are always tiny!

Thank you Victor! Yes the combination of 2 items makes this a winner! If only I would buy Magic Wagon every month - if the trick appeals to me of course, and no other magic props, it will not hurt my wallet too much! :)

I believe because all British have learnt to suppress thoughts about primary and secundary private parts, they just pop up at every object that has a resemblance to one of them ;)

And here it is, received it today!
For those who like old school magic, this is great!
For those who expect new clever mechanisms this will be a disappointment.
I anyway like it!
It's the great combination of 2 effects that makes this a winner!
Some sleight of hand is necessary, but for everyone familiar with Boston boxes (like me! I love them!) that is no problem at all.

The problem with making a video of this trick is we, magicians or collectors of magic tricks, will know IMMEDIATELY how it works ;)

I am planning to make a video of 'The Majestic Routine' with all three Majestic effects and only ONE (ahum ;) ) die :) First some practice though!

My idea is:
- three dice in Homing Die, one is taken
- with this die, Die Penetration is performed (yes, if you own Hydro Die you can use the same die for all three effects :) )
- after that, the same die is vanished with Hydro Die
- and is then found back in the Homing Die box :P

By the way, I'm not reviewing Homing Die yet because I first need to do the wife test (this weekend probably), but I did discover a very cool function the hanging box has which is not explained in the instructions.

Good idea David. I don't have all 3 Majestic effects, only Majestic Die Penetration and Majestic Homing Die.
