Hi Guys
Today I received a new old Tenyo Item called "Magic Toy".
It's a magic box and consist of 5 tricks named
- Vanishing and appearing coins - angel coins (Tenyoism p 1101 & 1114)
- Cut and restored rope (Tenyoism p 1101 & 1115)
- Thimble (Tenyoism p 1101 & 1115)
- Vanishing Handkerchief (Tenyoism p 1101)
- An-gra (Tenyoism p 1101 & 1112)
They seem to be the exact same items as in the Magic Box pictured in Richard's book at p 1101 but wit a differend lid.
Does anyone has an idea about why the difference in lids?
Thanks!
Peter

Re: Magic Toy Box
Very cool ... guessing that the lids were printed at different times, for some reason.

Akira Yamada was constantly instructing his staff to change the packaging of products to reinvigorate interest in them.
That's a very cool lid on your set! It almost looks like it was done for export to the west. I assume all the instructions are in Japanese?

Hi Richard,
Thanks for your answer - that explains it probably!
I opened the boxes very carefully (it looks like the items haven't been used before so I had to be very careful - only the seals were broken) - but all instructions indeed are Japanese.
