Magic Wagon - Psychic Chest

Post by Roberto B. » Sun Dec 08, 2013 10:22 am

Anyone is going for the last MW item: Psychic Chest??.......I don´t.....for some reason tricks with electronics does not attract me (exeption made for the HolograFX set....;)).

For me is like staring the spectator actions with a hidden camera.....just my personal feeling.

OK...maybe I´m just envy...because is to expensive for my Christmas budget...lol

I decided to pass as well. I'm not that enthusiastic about yet another mentalism effect.

I was tempted but then I showed my brother in law who is into electronics and of course he immediately knew how it worked. I also showed him Promystic's Colormatch (which is a bit cheaper since I already own a receiver) and explained the method and routine to him.
He told me he would certainly go for Colormatch since it looks much more convincing and ordinary. And with the gimmicks of Colormatch hidden in a cannister the same effect is possible.

Anyway, needless to say I passed. I didn't buy Colormatch either, but I will in the near future probably.

MW's effect looks very good and will work great I'm sure. If I had the money I would have bought it, but again, there are similar effects without electronics and above all Colormatch is a worthy 'replacement' item easy available.

By the way, I have been thinking about making/using an electronic device like this one for a magic trick too. Reciever/transmitters are easy available (for ex.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pwEKLCqZGE - price: 30 - 35 USD), the 'push' buttons just have to be changed into magnet-dependent relays, which shouldn't be that hard for someone who knows some electronics.

As soon as I saw $475 I passed. I didn't even read the description.

I passed too. It doesn't even look nice, and I absolutely dislike electronics in combination with magic. Mechanical marvels is what I like.

Agreed. The more springs, pulleys, interlocking gears, etc. the more I like them!

Probably explains my adoration for Crystal Cleaver!

I too prefer mechanical tricks, but don't underestimate the power of electronic devices in combination with mechanical tricks. I use Multidimensional to let a spectator choose a color or ESP-symbol for example.

I also see it that way and furthermore we live in the magical electronic age
A good presentation will hardly show any difference to a mechanical trick !

All a matter of taste, I think Psychic Chest looks outstanding
Chest even has real brass feet & an extraordinary veneer
The sun & moon medallion looks very beautiful too
