Re: Retro Rocketeers
Really nice that you became a member here, Anthony! You will see that quite a few of your other items has been discussed in here, but you will need to get to the full member level (10 posts or more, I think) to see all categories in here. Feel free to post as many novels as you like, it is always ni...

I looked at his web page, and you are right:

Re: Retro Rocketeers
It could possibly also use the principle of Crystal Cleaver, but the trigger mechanism would have to be different. There seems to be fairly little room in the base for that to be possible, though. And there was no sound (although could be edited out) to point to that particular method of working.

Re: Retro Rocketeers
I understand what you mean Olaf, but I don't really see it as much of a flaw, and in my opinion it doesn't detract from the trick. I really like this version, and I agree with David that it probably uses a similar secret to what is used for Majestic Die Penetration, although the distance seems a bit...

Re: T-132 The Ninja Experiment
Roberto, I am so sorry but I overwrote your post by accident  You can adjust this post, very sorry for the inconvenience ... :( I remember you said a nice part of the trick is the removable base ... . LOL...no worries...I was mentioning that for me the clever part of the trick is in the frame ...

Re: T-132 The Ninja Experiment
It is a ridiculous amount of money for what it is, but that can be true for almost any kind of collector's items that are hard to find. I played around with a 3D-printed prototype of the lower part of this trick, just to gain some understanding of how angle sensitive it is, and I concluded that it i...

Re: T-132 The Ninja Experiment
Since I am not really a collector, I would never want to pay for an original of this trick, and I am mostly interested in tricks that are actually fooling for family and friends, so for those reasons this is perhaps not for me. However, I could spend some time creating my own version, as with 3D-pri...

Re: T-132 The Ninja Experiment
To me it looks like the secret at the lower part of this trick would be pretty obvious to spectators, but perhaps it isn't? In particular, it looks like if the spectators are sitting down so that their eyes are nearly level with the prop, then the illusion will break completely. Very clever thinking...

Re: Thomas Pohle is the thief
So there is a video as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RYrBxIK-tg The video was uploaded in May, while Collin showed his version half a year earlier. TPs version is almost identical to Collins original, but he did of course use different materials, and he also didn't use the original Tenyo pr...

Re: Sad News About Our Friend Mr. Wizard/Richard W.
I did know he was suffering from ALS, and that it was difficult for him to physically write, and consequently it took him quite a bit of time to post anything. Now he struggles no more.
Rest in piece, Richard.

Re: Thomas Pohle is the thief
Ah, so Pohle actually made the full trick (with CollinWs concept idea), not just an addon to the Tenyo version. In that case, it is even worse in my opinion. Tenyo might see it as different enough to not care, though.

Re: Thomas Pohle is the thief
What? I haven't seen that, but I guess that Pohle made his version using other techniques than 3D-printing? Since you did not release the files (AFAIK), this version must be a conceptual/visual copy of your work/idea, and not an exact copy, right? Unfortunately, I don't think there is much you can d...

Re: On Edge by Angelo Carbone
I agree it looks good, but I fear it will be perhaps too expensive for what it is. And also, some of the performances I have seen clearly gives away parts of the secret, so care must be taken to try to avoid that. That said, I still don't understand what keeps the balance of the final castle. I have...

This would have been more impressive with an actual spectator, that's for sure.
Did you create this yourself, or is it a commercially available item?

Re: Demi Deck
That's a good tip, Olaf! I received mine yesterday, and I have been playing a bit with it. While the method is what I had expected, there is more to it than I would have guessed, and I will say it is quite clever. The blade handle on mine came loose as I took it out of the plastic bag, and doesn't a...

I would say easy if you have big hands. Collin , I think dark clothing is more important  I don't think a dark shirt helps that much. Here the box gimmick is flashed twice and yet he's wearing a black T-shirt. ZABGkt0RXuU Those flashes would most likely go by unnoticed with a live audien...

Re: Demi Deck
For the first time I've actually fallen prey of the hype and ordered this trick. Angelo Carbone does have a proven track record as a magic creator, and even if it is pretty obvious what is generally going on (not the exact technical execution), I think this looks nice. And he does claim that the ang...

Sure looks like it! Not at all surprising if Tenyo uses 3D printing as a prototyping tool.
