Re: CHRISTMAS MAGIC CONTEST!
Great to read that Øyvind, our mastermind, wins this beautiful handmade wooden gem!
Congratulations !
Congratulations !
Re: CHRISTMAS MAGIC CONTEST!
Today I received this wonderful prize, and it is a real beauty to behold and to play with!
The fit and finish is every bit as good as the pictures will lead you to believe, it has been made with great care and accuracy! It takes a very skilled craftsman to make something like this, and Peter most definitely belongs to that category!
I am, needless to say, very happy that I won this, and I will most definitely enjoy showing it to people (just need to practice first)! So again, thanks to Peter for hosting the contest!

ØyvindK
I wanted to win this item the minute I seen it. The quality is so obviously top notch. I would loved to have it on my shelf. I'm happy you ended up winning it as you are most deserving to be the one that gets this wonderful item.

Re: CHRISTMAS MAGIC CONTEST!
I've been playing with my new little gem multiple times throughout the day, and it is a very nice little trick.
However, I'm not confident I'll be able to do the performance as Peter does in his demo video, at least not without a lot of practice. The sleight isn't very complicated, but the hand that conceals the die needs to look natural, and that's not the easiest thing to do.
So I've been thinking about alternative methods, but I'd appreciate suggestions. My current best option might be to use/create some sort of device to hold the die (perhaps like a magic drawer thingy), which would be shown empty, and then the die is placed into it. After some magical gesture the wooden box is shown to have the die back in place, and the die is shown to not be in the device any more. After that, a new magic gesture is needed to vanish the die from the wooden box and back into the device where it can be taken out and finally replaced into the wooden box.
Might be a bit overkill, though... So suggestions appreciated!

Re: CHRISTMAS MAGIC CONTEST!
Glad to hear the trick arrived safe and sound!
I'll copy part of a message I sent to Øyvind here: If your struggling with vanishing the die you could simply put it in your pocket and say it jumps back to the box. But the fun part of magic is getting creative with how to vanish it your own way and put your own fun spin on the trick!

Nice going ØyvindK. I'll have to add this item to my list of things I would like to build.
